Working with Stakeholders
Psc by Daniel Shin
Tuesday morning was orientation time. This Learning Block 04 will cover the topic 'Working with Stakeholders' – learning how to collaborate and work efficiently with various stakeholders. You know that building a company is not something a CEO can do alone, right? Many diverse opinions from makers came up with expectations for Learning Block 04. "I want to produce results, find partners to work with, gain insights, gain new experiences, want to do small-scale projects with other makers, want to create an action plan for tangible growth of the business, want to become a community that gathers without a specific purpose, and wants to actualize the business of what I'm currently doing." Just like what we all expect, I hope that by the end of this block, you will have gained a lot!

'Mutual Respect' is Crucial When Collaborating
with Various Stakeholders
by Joo Sang-sik
On Tuesday afternoon, we invited CEO Joo Sang-Sik, who has been working at SM Entertainment for a long time and is currently the founder of Web 3 startup 'bitBLUE'. He shared how he chose the path of a developer after majoring in philosophy because he loved playing games at a computer academy, where he began coding. He walked down the path of a developer, starting from creating Web 1 at a time when the Internet was not fully available. After working in various companies, he worked at SM Entertainment for 17 years and carried out various projects in the company known for pioneering technology adoption. He started his own business when he realized he couldn't make his life a priority without the authority of a representative. It's really amazing how he took on the challenge of solving the problem he had since himself through a startup. Among the various questions asked during the collaboration with various stakeholders, the most impressive answer was 'mutual respect' is the most important. Mutual respect acknowledges diversity, and even if conflicts arise, respecting each other and maintaining courtesy greatly help resolve these conflicts. Should we strive more for mutual respect?'

The Driving Force That
Lets You Stand Up
Despite Continual Frustrations
by Lim Soo-Jin
On Thursday morning, we invited Olive Young CPO Lim Soo-jin, and it was like meeting a real-life 'Wonder Woman'. Hearing her career story full of unexpected setbacks, her resilience, and her continual build-up of competitive power, I felt like I had to become like her. She has held various roles like investor, entrepreneur, PM, and product manager, and her insights from working in known companies like Daum, Nexon, SK, Interpark, and Olive Young are endless. Ultimately, the driving force that let her try all of these was 'fun.' She advised to let go of situations and environments out of one's control and focus on what can be done. Regardless of the situation, if you do well, it will show. And if you have the mindset that it will all work out in the end, it leads you to where you are today. Let's dare to take on challenges, cheering ourselves up with the mantra, "It will work out in the end!"

'Forest Still to Grow'
Living Library by Heejin Choi
On Thursday afternoon, we had the Living Library session by Heejin Choi. This block is about introducing yourself with a book title and sharing your life book with others. The first runner, Forest, introduced a book titled 'The Road Less Traveled'. He chose this book because it was the most memorable one he had fun reading. This book made him realize that life is a journey, and he found the meaning and purpose of life through it. The book encourages readers not to give up on life's journey and do their best until the end. For those who wonder how to live a happier and more fulfilling life, it would be a good read. They discussed questions like "What makes life difficult?" and "How did you respond to difficulties?" in small groups. We look forward to the next person to share their story, and we cheer for Forest, who, like the title 'Forest Still to Grow,' will continue to grow!
