Difference is not wrong
PSC by Daniel Shin
Have you heard of the principles of effectuation? It's a set of five principles that entrepreneurs use to achieve success in uncertain situations: Bird in hand, Affordable loss, Crazy quilt, Lemonade, and Pilot in the plane. These aren't just for entrepreneurs; they can be applied by leaders and team leaders who introduce and drive change within organizations.
Is being different wrong? In the end, it seems that we can embrace differences through compassion alone. Through activities that simulate disabilities, like blindness or deafness, we realized that being different is not wrong, Just like Helen Keller's saying, "The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.”
We also conducted a carousel discussion activity. We divided into employees and employers. The employees asked from the perspective of "What can you do for me?" while the employers rotated with the question "What can you do for us?". It was a chance to understand each other's viewpoints. It reminded us of the saying, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

If you read alone,
it won't remain.
Summarize in writing & verbally
by Manya (Hye-seung Jeong)
We had the chance to meet Manya, who is known for various titles such as a entrepreneur, and writer. During the session, a heated debate was triggered when I asked about the topic of "diversity" that she covered in a Sebasi talk. Through her, we realized the importance of diversity and how different perspectives reduce risk and enhance outcomes. The keyword "diversity" allowed us to delve into topics such as gender, conflict, and urban film festivals. Further discussions on societal issues like algorithms and confirmation bias led to the realization that collective power can achieve significant outcomes. Ultimately, we felt that books are a medium to share various thoughts and gain a deeper understanding. We should read more! We are grateful to Manya for leading such an engaging discussion.

"Obeying Diversity" by Julia
"Les Misérables" by Han
Living Library by Heejin Choi
In the seventh week of the Living Library session, Heejin Choi introduced the book "The Return of the Prodigal Son." While it's a familiar biblical story, the takeaway was about recognizing and overcoming internal challenges like jealousy and biases. We all need to practice love more.
Julia, the lead of this session, introduced a book titled "Obeying Diversity" about overcoming childhood traumas. It made us reflect on past challenges and how they manifest in adulthood.
Han, the second presenter, brought up the film "Les Misérables". The film contains themes of history, revolution, struggle, love, dignity, sacrifice, and biblical messages. It was a heartwarming and fun session discussing the movie's themes.

Living as a Christian in Investment Banking
by Seok-jong Hong
Through a conversation with Seok-Jong Hong, who works in investment banking, we learned about balancing faith with work, living as a Christian in society, and the basics of investment banking. Being in a highly competitive and money-driven field, maintaining faith is challenging. Seeing him persevere in his faith, especially within the FWIA community where people face occupational dilemmas and struggles, was truly inspiring.
