Time has flown, and we're already nearing the end of October. Can you believe it's almost November? Although there isn't much of 2023 left, every day at METES is filled with fervor and passion. We're planning a friends' gathering next week. Let's bring our friends and enjoy a rich time of fellowship.
In the "Life & Its Challenges" session, we discussed the topic "Your golden seeds" and explored what we excel at, as well as the strengths others have identified in us. We wrote affirmations about these strengths. Sharing and receiving joy in what interests us is crucial. We discussed how to discover our passions and what lifts our spirits. Through this activity, everyone felt a step closer to their future by affirming and declaring their strengths. Let's chant these affirmations every morning and boost our confidence!
Entrepreneurs realize that psychological resilience is crucial when facing challenges in their entrepreneurial journey. Everyone has different thresholds for stress, so training is essential. We shared memorable quotes, proud moments, how we spend our free time, and initiatives we took without being told. We also defined compulsion, anxiety, and burnout. Through a checklist, we evaluated our vulnerability to stress and our resilience. We wrote down our concerns and provided coaching. The diverse range of concerns and coaching allowed us to empathize and recharge. Let's strengthen the bond within METES and fill each other's needs!
Alex Gladstein from the Human Rights Foundation discussed the efforts being made to defend human rights in North Korea and how Bitcoin, a virtual asset, can solve such issues. It was an engaging session. Thanks to everyone who participated in the special talk.
While discussing with Jong-yeong Yoon, who specializes in blockchain and AI, the main takeaway was "Step out of your comfort zone". His experiences as a student in the U.S. and observations of work culture in Silicon Valley versus Korea have taught him to appreciate those who think outside the box. He mentioned creating a community for Koreans in Silicon Valley and frequently advised young people to adopt a global perspective. Technology continually evolves, but it's jobs that get replaced, not individuals. The emphasis should be on leveraging technology for productivity. Coding skills are essential, but the ability to plan and make ideas accessible is even more critical. Let's embrace emerging technologies and venture beyond our comfort zones!
The third Metaverse session titled "Visualized Blessings with GenerativeAI & Spatial" was a blast. Affirmations, DallE3, and the Metaverse converged. Makers voiced their concerns and showcased their generated images in the Metaverse gallery to support one another. The session highlighted our Moderator, Soaming, who pondered on "How to live?" with keywords like "Connecting the Dots" and "Direction of life". All makers actively generated uplifting images for Soaming. We wish her success as a global entrepreneur! This digital space will serve as a Safety Zone for METES Makers to revisit whenever they need a boost. If you're interested in joining a Metaverse session, reach out to us!
We had a spiritually enriching time discussing the role of the gospel in addressing societal issues with Pastor Efrem Buckle from the London City Mission, who we haven't seen for a year. He not only leads in a social enterprise but also shares insights on using the gospel to solve societal problems. It was truly a joy to meet him again after a year.
