MNM 42 l
12.11.2023 - 12.15.2023
Hi! This is the last MNM of this block. Thanks to everyone who joined us, the METES YEAR-END PARTY last Friday, which had over 40 attendees, was a great success. It was great to see the connections between makers and meisters, and between meisters themselves, making METES a place of opportunity. METES aims to be a community where good people come together to create better things. After a three-week winter break, Learning Block 02 starts on January 9th, so mark your calendars! The times are the same, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 3 PM. If you know anyone who's contemplating employment, starting a business, or furthering their education, let the moderators know! We want to be a warm community, always ready to support and encourage new opportunities and experiences.
+ Editor.S's Letter
I was so happy to send out 42 issues of the METES news to all of you. Although there were some shortcomings, it was helpful for me too, as being the one to update everyone and recap the METES sessions required a deep understanding of each session. I will contemplate further on how we can evolve in the next block and return with more development. Thank you for reading and for letting me know that you enjoy it. This was a voluntary endeavor, but it's been very motivating. See you again! Goodbye!" -Soaming Jeong- |

l 12.12(Tue) Heejin Choi, [Life & Its Challenges] #10: End of Life
In the last session of 'Life & its Challenge' by Heejin Choi, we reflected on the year 2023 with the theme 'End of life'. We had a special event where everyone wrote eulogies, which are speeches or writings that highly praise someone or something, typically someone who has just passed away. It was a time to look into what values are important to us. We’d like to express our gratitude to Heejin, who led us online from the U.S. for 10 weeks. This session allowed us to delve deeper into each other's stories in small groups and discover new topics and questions about ourselves and those around us. Writing eulogies, which moved some to tears, was a heartfelt and profound experience. Look forward to different themes in the next block! |

l 12.12(Tue) Wonsik Jeong (Investment Manager at D3Jubilee Partners): How to improve the world
We had a meaningful conversation with Won-sik Jeong, an impact VC at D3jubilee, about 'How to improve the World'. In this session, we learned what impact investing is and how he aligns his life and work while cultivating the world. His mission to connect capitalism, world issues, and people was impressive. However, he emphasized that to cultivate the world, one must first cultivate oneself, stressing the importance of personal health and soul. The session made us ponder our missions, the problems we want to solve, and how we can cultivate the world through experiments in our current situations. |

l 12.14(Thu) Forest Lee, Metaverse #10: KPT Reflection, Onboarding Metamask
In the last Metaverse session, we reviewed the past 10 weeks with 'Keep, Problem, Try'. Moderator Forest, who led these sessions, enabled us to experience various tools. The session highlighted the limitless potential of technology and the business opportunities within. The feedback and ideas from the makers during the reflection were valuable. |

l 12.14(Thu) Youngin Kim (Founder, CEO at Gazilab): Gazilab, User-friendly Wellness Service
For the closing Meister session, we had Youngin Kim, the CEO of Gajilab and former head of Noom Korea and Japan, discuss the wellness industry, customer experience, and startups. Despite his experience leading Noom, a top diet app, for seven years, he shared that starting Gajilab and going from 0 to 1 was a different story. His decision to leave his doctorate and enter the wellness field to enable everyone to live healthily and true to themselves was inspiring. Gajilab's mission to provide personalized wellness solutions gives hope for a healthier and more authentic future for everyone. Let’s all live healthily and true to ourselves! |

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to gather together for our Friday lunch. It's because of every one of you that METES has become a place of precious meetings and opportunities. Gathering under the name of METES, exchanging random gifts, and getting to know each other has been a wonderful opportunity. We'll look forward to creating more chances to come together like this! I'd like to extend my gratitude once again to the moderators who planned this end-of-year party, and to all the makers and meisters who participated. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and looking forward to seeing you in the new year! |
